About me

My name is Mirjam Dekker and I am your coach, inspirator and life guide.

I have always been fascinated by how we humans are put together, why we behave the way we do and how we (can) give meaning to our existence. That's why I started studying psychology (VU Amsterdam, degree: 1999). 
Even though I really enjoyed my studies, I was looking for more. I wanted to deepen and enrich my knowledge. So in the following years I completed a number of other curriculums, including life and career coaching, NLP and systemic work/constellations. Plus a collection of interesting courses and continuing education programs. In addition, I've also done years of research myself.

I believe in the intentional and conscious shaping of your own life. But also in ´going with the flow´ and doing what you are made for. The trick is to find the perfect balance. If you live in harmony with yourself - with who you are and what you want - and  with the natural flow of life, then there really are no limits to what you can achieve! 
But how do you do that? Because we don't learn that at school: how to use our full potential. While therein lies the freedom, happiness and fulfillment we all seek! I myself have been looking for that for a long time as well. As such, I´ve been involved in self-development for half my life - although you could also call it ´soul searching´....

Something else everyone knows about me is that I love to travel! From an early age, I felt an urge to explore the world and experience all kinds of exotic adventures on this beautiful planet. I´ve had the opportunity to visit more than 75 countries, on 6 different continents. And I am far from finished .... Also, I´ve lived and worked abroad for several years: in Canada, New Zealand and Spain, to be exact. All these experiences have given me a wealth of knowledge and insights, which I take with me in my work as well.

Everything came together when, after years of working for others, I founded my own coaching & training company in 2010. That was perhaps the most challenging journey yet .... Because it wasn't long before I ran into all kinds of obstacles. And I also got stuck several times. But precisely because of that I was 'forced' to really find my own way. Moreover, it taught me how to overcome what was holding me back on my path. Like the not-good-enough´s that my inner critic kept coming up with :-(

For me, everything changed once I got hold of the right keys. And this valuable knowledge, life wisdom and tools I now gladly pass on to you! So that a free, happy and light life also comes within reach for you .... and you don't have to walk the whole way I did.
What you´ll notice is that I look at things from a holistic perspective, in other words: the bigger picture. I not only call on my extensive expertise, but also on my intuitive abilities and ´laser vision´. Because that's when it really becomes next-level. Don't expect just any ordinary upgrade, but a real magical uplift!

Finally: when I´m not traveling or working you can most likely find me in a nice restaurant somewhere. Because I love everything that has to do with good food! Preferably in combination with a good glass of (white) wine and good conversation.
